Coin Shop ??

Most coin stores that I've visited have there coins displayed in display cases for everyone to see. They have everything grouped accordingly, and priced. There is one local store that never has anything priced. Everything is in boxes for you to go through, slabs and 2x2's. He asks what your interested in, and then pulls them out for you to go through. Every coin that I'm interested in, he looks up the price from a price sheet. Personally, I don't like this. For example: I was looking at a 1948 Franklin, MS-66 NGC. A nice piece for my type set. I spent about 5 minutes looking the coin over, while the owner was on the phone. When he returned he looked up the price, $600.00. Well, I had no intention of spending that much that day, so to me that was waisted time that I could have been looking at something that fitted the amount of money I desided that I was going to spend.
My question is, how does other coin stores around the country conduct their pricing ? Oh, the 48 Frankie was nice. It was flawless. I couldn't find one tick on it. Looked like it would upgrade to me. Still thought $600 was too much though. Opinions anyone ? image

Dealers are businessmen (or businesswomen). Their business practices will determine if they are successful or not. If you don't like his business practices just don't deal with him. Don't spend a lot of time worrying about your decision. His bad business practices (in your eyes) are his problem. Don't make them your problem.
