I'm putting an end to this right now until I speak with David personally. Suffice to say I should have done so to begin with. It is not my intent to make him or anyone affiliated with PCGS look bad publicly. What started out as a question should have simply stayed that way.

Because this is a public forum with a fair number of newbies, this needs to be said:
In the past 15 years, PCGS and NGC have graded 20 million coins. I've been a full time dealer through that entire time period, and I've never heard of either service cleaning a coin without authorization.
Boom - Please stop wasting our time. Thank you.

Once again I allowed my emotions get the better of me. I thought I could get over it but this has been festering since I opened the envelope. I am sure that what was done was done in good faith and that PCGS was only trying to help in some way.
This is the only possible explanation for what transpired. I certainly would not seek to embarass PCGS or Mr. Hall. either publicly or in private. I am at fault here for going about this the wrong way.
<< <i>Who all thinks that whoever grades your coins.. Along with everyone that handles them, should be made to sign your invoice? >>
not me. ridiculous to believe that pcgs should do that, when they clearly & explicitly advertise that they use consensus grading. i'm sure that you know that danged well, too, so since you know what you are getting into, you have no grounds to complain.

Odd, I didn't ask for anyone to clean them! >>
You should post a question in Q&A and ask David Hall who cleaned your coins.
