Need some advice

I have amassed what I think is a reasonably nice beginning set of proof Frankies. I still have about 15 proofs in airtites and numerous other proof coins (from '59-64) I would really like to show these to someone more knowledgable than I and see if they are worth grading/selling etc.
I live in Toronto Ontario. Anyone know of someone up here I could speak to or perhaps near the border at Niagara Falls/Buffalo.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks

shmort: Unfortunately, I just left Niagara Falls, where I spent a week on business. Otherwise, I could have looked at the Frankies for you. If you have a good digital camerta, put some pics up here; Lucy Bop, or someone else really knowledgeable on that series can probably give you some good advice. image

Lets see some pics- myself, and probably many others more qualified than I, would be happy to give you opinions.

Proof frankies are D-E-A-D DEAD right now...

Some people are still asking large amounts of money for nice cameos, but I think now is a good time to find some bargain gems. I just found a gem cameo-all-day-long 1962 in an old green pci 67 holder for $15 measley dollars- a complete steal. Dead times always have benefits on the other side of the coin....

I started a set of Proof Franklins last September. I completed it in June of this year. I thought they were too cheap to pass up, compared to what dealers were asking ( especially those dealers who deal primarily in this series).

My collection is blast white NGC 67 PF, alot are cameos, and a couple are Ultra Cams in PF 68 . The last coin added was a 1950 PF 67, also in blast white. I paid one third of what a major dealer was asking for the same grade and service ( picked up this 1950 on a Teletrade auction). I still need the 1961 DDO; there are a couple of NGC's out there in PF 67, but I will wait till one is available at a reasonable price. Last one sold in NGC PF 67 for $1800 at auction a month or so ago.

There are alot of bargains out there; you just gotta keep a sharp eye out.

This set really is quite impressive in gem proof.

Even though my set is a very nice set , it ranks about 20th (?) on the NGC web site Registry. I wasn't in it for the rank, just wanted a nice looking set.

They may be "dead" now, but they may come alive years down the line.

I've always held the belief that you should collect what you like and to heck with what others think is "hot" and "what's not".
