GAI to PSA crossover results

I know everyone here gets a big kick out of crossover results, so I'll regulary post a few results here. I buy raw, BGS/BVG, SGC, & GAI versions of cards from the 1952 Topps set if I can't find a PSA version. PSA is the only grading company I can trust. BGS has no idea what they are doing with vintage cards, GAI cares about centering and that's it, and SGC I consider to be just about as good as PSA, but for uniformity and registry purposes, I stick with PSA. Most (99.9%) of people on these boards suggest cracking and submitting instead of submitting in the holders, so I did that. Not to deceive PSA, but I agree that seeing a name of a competitor, plus having limited view through a holder, makes good crossover results unlikely. So, I'll post here every week my results. Submission number 1.
GAI 6 #54 -- Not Holdered/Altered --- intrigues me more than annoys me, because it looks like a normal card to me. Will they tell me in what way they think it was altered?
GAI 6.5 #301 -- PSA 6 --- I don't mind the half point downgrade.
GAI 6.5 #342 -- PSA 6 --- I don't mind the half point downgrade.
GAI 8 #226 -- PSA 6 --- Big surprise, thought this would come back a PSA 8, beautiful card. Can't fathom the reason for the two point drop.
GAI 8 #91 -- PSA 5 --- Blown away. Absolutely thought an 8 with outside chance at a nine. 50/50 centering all four ways, beautfiul card, no staining, no print dots, four perfect corners, back of my head thought it would get a 9. Definitely must resubmit this one as someone there must've seen something that 1. didn't exist or 2. I completely missed (along with GAI) Very disappointing. $400 became a $60 card overnight.
SGC 86 #393 -- PSA 6 --- This one also a big surprise, should've kept this in its holder so it would get some SGC respect. I've never seen something graded 7.5 by SGC fall to a 6 in PSA. Ouch again. $500 card becomes a $210 card overnight.
GAI 5 #191 -- PSA 6 --- O.K., so the most expensive card, least likely to get an upgrade, jumps a full point. This one made this submission a D+ for me instead of an F.
We'll see later this week how the next submission goes.

<< <i>I would review the cards in their PSA holders to see if any new damage had occured in the handling of the cards at PSA. >>
or, damage that might've occurred while cracking them out of their holders (although im sure you were very careful)..
Make sure there are no tiny specks of plastic left on the cards as a result of the break-out.
Blow them off or very, very gently wipe them off making sure not to make scratches on the card's surfaces.
Also, a sledge hammer and an anvil may not be the best tools to use for cracking slabs ...
