His (her?) feedback is only 5, from mostly sci-fi related stuff such as videogames, movies, and comic books.

A hijacked account is more like it.

EDIT: I sent the seller this note:

Are you really selling a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle graded PSA 3?

Please send a scan of the back. I'm interested.

    Thanks.
  • It is questionable due to low-feedback - just do what jrinck said. I usually ask for a picture with it on a newspaper - something to show they have it in hand.

edit to add: I ate Wheaties this morning so I can squint 20-20 vision - the # is 11780013 which checks out.

second edit to add: Damn, I don't know how I missed that - I was just looked at that auction last week.....

Oops, we have a winner! Stolen scan!

Here's the real auction, which closed yesterday:

The "fake" seller's response to my email:

"I do have this card this is a actual pic of the card that I own currently. "

Yeah, right. That's why it is the same scan of an auction that ended yesterday.

EDIT: My response to his response:

If you own it, then you would have no problem sending me a scan of the back. Also, please explain why your scan exactly matches
that of one in an auction that ended yesterday.

But you don't have to explain it to me. I alerted Ebay AND the seller who's scan you stole. You'll be plenty busy dealing with them.

I love it when people get busted. image

    Good Job Gang!
  • my concern is if you do bid on a stolen scan and the auction goes till the end. what than ?
$ is sent and pretty much you get burned with no recourse. how do we stop this or alert ebay to how many of these go on. i mean just the people on this board must have found at least 15 or 20 mantle rookie stolen scans
in the past couple of weeks.
what gives on ebays part ?
