Newbie question about free submissions

Hi all! I've been lurking for a little while and love the message board. My question is about free submissions for late grading. Are these submissions something I have to request, or are they sent seperately and automatically from the late coin itself? I just received my first submission back. It was late, but had no indication that I would receive a free submission. BTW- it was a 1937S buffalo nickel submitted for regrade. Originally in a 65 rattler, now in a 66 image I also had a 1936S cross MS65 from a PCI holder (if you can believe that!) I'm still waiting on my four freebies for joining the club- I am much more nervous about those! 1913 raw (should 66 or squeak 67) 1913 raw (I think is a proof) 1924S raw(hoping for VF20, probably will F15) and 1935D raw (was NGCMS64, hoping it will 65).

I appreciate the input, and look forward to learning and contributing!

Yo AYEEEE...Welcome!image About your "Late submission," you may have to call them to remind'em. They're pretty busy.
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
  • I think it is interesting that when a new person posts a question more people reply with "welcome" than actualy answering the question. I just think its a bit ironic but I will have t obe guilty of the same thing because I dont know the answer to your question so welcome.

  • I found out my answer! PCGS customer service was very speedy in their reply to my inquiry. Here is the answer:

"Hello- This is something you do have to request, and they are mailed separate from your grading order. If you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call us at (800) 447-8848 and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you"

I called and requested my freebies and the gentleman on the phone was extremely polite. My complimentary submission vouchers are on their way!

Thanks to those who replied to my post- and thank you for the welcome!
