What to do with your mistakes?

I had a great idea to pass on to the forum population...What to do with your coin mistakes? I recently bought a piece that I shouldn't have and like anyone else, the mistake has been gnawing at me. It wasn't expensive but it was a gold coin that was over graded and cleaned. I overpaid about 15-20% but have the bullion value as insurance. When I got it home after very close examination, I realized my mistake...in the heat of the moment, I had pulled the trigger and shot myself in the foot. And, it was my mistake, I admit it and I am not going to use it to salt a trade with, leaving someone else with my error. I don't make a lot of mistakes but it does happen from time to time. I decided to give it as a Christmas/Birthday gift...hummmm, excellent idea, turning a mistake into a nice experience for the receiver and the giver. Just a thought for y'all...now get out there and find some nice coins!

I think we've all made mistakes. The key in my opinion, is to won up to it, learn from it, and try not to make that mistake again. If you don't like a mistake coin for what it is, get rid of it and chalk up the pain to experience. I've had plenty of experience.......and I have some mistakes I keep as a reminder too!

I sell them on eBay with a honest description about the coins condition.
What you don't like someone else might.
