    Yep. Chicago.

    Then, Anaheim.

What is this, 1820? The country extends all the way to the Pacific Ocean, but it looks like the folks at the "National" seem to think it ends at the Mississippi!

They should call it the East Coast Semi-National. This type of naming is just as arrogant as MLB calling it the "World Series" despite only one country in the entire world taking part in it. (I don't count Canada--even if you do, that's what, two out of 193? Still pretty seclusionary)

EDIT: Anaheim, huh? Oh. Never mind!

Yep. Every 7 years or so, the West Coast gets thrown a bone.

I heard the last National on the West Coast was a dud. From what I understand, the market in the Midwest (extending out east) is the strongest in the country. Whether this statement has any validity is open to debate.

Then again, I'm not going to complain that the National will be in Chicago since I live 30 miles from downtown image

I seriously hope that a National comes back East. And, I mean really East, like New York or Boston. The Midwest may seem like a good choice, but there are so many people within a 3-4 hour drive of NY that it could be a big success. AC, I realize, might not have been a great choice city wise, but give the East Coast another chance!

    Actually, California has hosted 6 of the first 22 Nationals, 1980 (LA), 1987 (SF), 1985, , 1991, 1996 & 2000 (Anaheim),
while the East Coast really has had 3, 1984 (Parsippany) 1988 & 2003 (A.City) I don't coun't Atlanta or Cleveland as an east Coast show. The glut of the shows seem to be in towards the center of the country. Chicago has hosted in 1983, 1989, 1993, 1998, 2002 and next year. St.Louis had 1982 & 1995, and Detroit in 1981. Texas (Arlington & Houston) has hosted 3 times, as did Cleveland, and Atlanta twice. There is the recap.
I would love to see a show happen in Vegas, there is enough convention sites that would work and more hotel rooms that you would need, and since that city never sleeps. You would have time for cards, partying & gambling. Sign me up...jay

One thing I have learned in the convention world is that everyone shows up for the Vegas show no matter where they live.

Actually, forget my idea. I would be in Vegas in a heartbeat - good call!
