weird set registry question

If a person found a really nice example of a card he needs, and it's worth getting graded for his set. The problem is it's been autographed by the player. Will PSA grade just the card and not the auto. Can I use it and register the card? Thanks Guys

You can get it graded by PSA/DNA and include it in your set as a PSA/DNA autographed card. That is your only option.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

The card graded by PSA/DNA will not count toward your registry set. I just asked Joe about that this last week at the National. But, you have no other option. You can not grade it like a PSA card and act like the autograph is not there.

Yeah, I see some folks complain of tiny ink markings on vintage cards - imagine lots of ink markings. Lol.
  • I have a PSA/DNA card registered in my 1970 Topps Set. Check out the link below and go to the picture attached to card #470 Willie Stargell. Because of this, Mariner's discussion with Joe Orlando is confusing to me. Maybe Mariner can clarify what Joe told them. I am pretty sure that you can register your card in any registry set as long as it is graded by PSA/DNA.

Well, I will have to admit that imafishinnut has me on that one....It sure looks like a PSA/DNA card will register in the set registry based on his Stargell card. I asked Joe about this last Friday before the luncheon because I have some autographed cards that I would like to grade and add to my sets. The anwser I mentioned earlier is what he said. I am not so sure now he is correct. BJ is the authority on the set registry so I will email her and ask her the question.

Wow! I emailed BJ less than an hour ago and she has already repsonded. Autographed cards in PSA/DNA holders can be added to your registry sets and be counted just like any other PSA graded card. That is good news!! My earlier statement based on my conversation with Joe is incorrect. image
