GOETZ: Opus 475 Paul von Hindenburg

K-475 PAUL VON HINDENBURG, 1932, Struck AR, 60mm, Matt UNC. R in silver.

To commemorate seven years as Reichs President. Obverse is the same as K-471 (22.5mm in gold) with bust of Hindenburg left. The Reverse shows his Coat-of Arms with shield and eagle above. The inscription on the reverse reads “The German Reich’s most faithful servant.” Additional Reading

    This is one of the lesser priced pieces of Goetz work and is currently valued at about $225....

    I'm a little embarrassed to say that I had never even heard of Goetz before. Is that like a medal, or a commemorate coin? Were his works meant to circulate? If all of his work is that beautiful, I can't wait to see more.
