All this talk of low grade coins and an argument with jom made me post this...

An argument last night with jom over who's held cooler coins led me to mention this piece and dig up photos... Chris Connell let me and 3 people of my choice head to the ANA vault at the 2003 Summer Seminar to hold the king of coins... the ANA's 1804 Class I dollar, which used to reside in an NGC PF15 holder.
Oh, and by the way... jom, this coin is so much cooler than anything you've held

For the most part--it's a grey, circulated coin. The lighting was pretty bad, and I didn't get much time (then again, I had only had my camera for a little over 2 months when I took the picture )

Did it get cracked out for an upgrade??
That's a cool looking coin- too bad it's been mishandled over the years and developed all of those rim nicks....
Is the coin out of focus because your camera was new at that time, or you were shaking from nerves holding it?
The collest coin I ever held was the 1873-CC no arrows dime that was auctioned in Baltimore a few weeks ago. 1804's are garden variety compared with this coin - there's only one of them, not a dozen!

<< <i>That's not nearly as cool as the 1979S SBA i got to hold. >>
At least yours is a "real" coin actually struck in 1979, not some fantasy piece minted 30 years later to appease a few dignitaries...
Conder, I thought they said 15... maybe I'm mistaken.
