It was reported in another thread that eBay has added several new flaming hoops for sellers to leap through when reporting a non-paying bidder and attempting to recover final value fees. This weekend I had to file two NPB disputes against a bidder for auctions which closed over a month ago. I now get to wait seven days for the bidder to respond through eBay's system before I can recover my fees.
One interesting thing I noted in going through this process was that I had four other disputes in my history, dating back to early 2003. It looks like any time a seller sends out a payment reminder, ebay saves a record of it. When they converted to the new system, any payment reminders in my file were converted to closed disputes. I only figured this out because a memorable payment reminder I received in December was listed (it was sent three weeks arter the auction close from a seller who I paid via PayPal within 12 hours of the auction).
To check your own history, go into 'My Ebay', 'All Selling', and look for the 'Selling Links' box on the lower left for 'Unpaid Item Disputes'. You may be as surprised as I was at what you find.
