Anyone ever sniped a Heritage Internet-only auction?

seanqseanq Posts: 8,652 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have my eye on a coin in the auction ending tonight, I plan to be online to snipe it manually. I've had some problems on eBay with the clock being erratic within a minute of the auction close, in one case it said I placed a bid after the auction ended even though the clock had over 20 seconds on it when I hit the button. I [i/DO NOT want to miss this coin tonight, so I was hoping someone with some experience sniping the Heritage auctions can give me an idea what to expect.

The first time I bid in a Heritage auction, I sniped... The second time I wanted to bid, I tried to snipe but didn't get my bid in in time. Oh well, I always try to get my bids in earlier now.

For Heritage, I usually give myself a minute or two to get the bid in. It doesn't seem as chronologically precise as eBay.

depends if its a live auction are only internet....I would give yourself a little more time than on a ebay auction...good luck, happy sniping....

  • I thought I got a great deal on an NGC PF65 Morgan, but it was a real dog and I returned it immediately. Heritage tried to charge me 5% on the return, and I refused to pay it.

I traced the coin to 2 prior Heritage internet auctions--not a bad deal, they make $300 every time it sells and is returned.

Needless to say, I won't go near a Heritage internet auction ever again!!
