Images from 1972 Series 6 wax pack

The following cards are from a 1972 Series 6 wax pack I opened yesterday. The gloss (other then Carew IA which was damaged by the gum), corners and edges of the cards were great. The centering was brutal (expecially on the Carlton Traded card). I have been working on a raw high grade 1972 Topps set. If anyone has any well centered NM or better raw cards for sell, please let me know. Thanks. David.

Opening that pack reminds me of the folks who open $100 modern packs. It truly is a gamble. Cool pictures.

Cool. I'd rather open this pack than anything produced today.

Looks like the Twins rookies is the best one--at least as far as grading potential. The Giants Team looks like it has sort of a dome cut on the left edge. What causes that?

I am telling you, an evil Carew hating troll worked the cutting machine in 72.

85% of the Carew IA are off center, way off center.

    Loves me some shiny!
  • The dome cut was created by the scan. The card was not lying flat and caused a dome look. It was fun opening the pack. I am discovering that having a pack slabbed in a GAI holder prevents some impulsive opening of packs.
  • The main question is- did you eat the gum?

  • I thought about it but seeing a black glob kept me away. I had enough trouble eating the cardboard gum back then.
