Did anyone see Mr. Mint throw the fastball at the customer?

Apparently from what I understand that our good friend Al Rosen (Mr. Mint) was accused of selling a fake autographed ball by one of his customers. When the customer took the ball to Rosen he denied it and they had words and Rosen threw the ball back at the guy. I do know that Rosen packed up and left the show early. Anybody that has more info or saw this take place please spill the beans.

Mike Wentz and Al Rosen will square off against each other in the center of the Rosemont Convention Center. Mike will try to punch Mr. Mint while trying to dodge the baseballs being thrown at him by Rosen. It will be a sight to see. Naxcom will be selling tickets to see this at a reduced price if you purchase them in advance.

You have it backwards. The customer sold him three bad balls. He represented them as years that they were not. Rosen took them to be authenticated and they all three were different than represented. Rosen wanted his $$ back from the guy. The customer said he would refund the money on one ball but not all three, even though he knew they were not what he said they were. Rosen got pissed. The guy ran away, Rosen chased after him throwing fastballs at him. The count was 2 balls and 1 strike. One ball nailed the guy in the back. Two missed. One of the three balls was not found. I understand the amount of $$ was quite large involved in this transaction.

Funny story, though. I've heard nothing but bad stories about him in the last few years. This one, the fake Ruth ball, the negative attitude he takes with people who don't show him a suitcase full of T206 Planks, the Bobbleheads. Makes me wonder how he stays in the hobby at all.

<< <i>This sounds like an urban hobby legend in the making. Did he "throw" it back, like go overhand and really peg it, or did he "toss" it back? Did he project it ballistically through the air in any way? Did any of this happen at all? Is the ball really fake? What ball is this?

Believe what you want to believe. I was there when it happened. The Balls were not lobbed. My radar gun had the at 55mph. Not bad for an old guy.

This is almost too funny to be remotely true...shouldn't Mr Mint be out paying old folks 10 cents on the dollar for their "worthless" old cards anyway? Why waste time with the educated collectors at the National?
