I was gonna do a writeup with something about "ample luster peeks from beneath subtle russet overtones", but I can't beat Dave's succinct and splendid entry.

(And I can't type tonight, either- I don't think a single one of my posts in the last hour is unedited- I've had to go back and fix 'em all.)
