preapproved bidder scams

i just noticed a PSA 10 Yzerman rookie, one day auction, preapproved, etc. how does this work? do they try to sell the cards offline? i emailed the guy asking to be added to the bidder list, so i could drop a $1000 bid. i have no idea why, i just figured that i could have a little fun with the guy. if he makes me an offline offer, i'm going to ask for scans of the back. i might try to talk him in to giving me his address so i can send payment for the card. if i get his address, it's going straight to the FBI
