maybe a few weeks, but the deluge of retail short prints made this set more attainable. I still think
that in the future some of the non'sp's will be the hardest to find. I think the real heritage collectors
on here know this. If someone wanted to compare number Im sure we would find some low
numbered sp's and if you factor condition too then you have other "mint sp's"
This set is only growing in popularity, every year I am able to find buyers for singles. Heritage is one of the
few bright spots in set building. Thanks for the post!

Everything is timing IMO. Those that want to keep the cost of the set down will flip a mess of cards in the first week while the set is hot. Having said this, the set now books at around 400$ - if you get about 200$ on ebay right now, that is half book. How many sets that pass their very short lived prime sell at half book? Just something to keep in mind. Also, I took my wife out to Zushi Sushi last night and dropped 60 bucks with tip - the only one retrieving anything on that investment is the San Antonio Water and Sewerage.

Great idea - but in deference to Topps, they have been extrememly successful with the brand - they might not want to mess with the mix - and after all, if it aint broke don't fix it. Just my take - altho, if they want to give me a nice 57T nearmint #95 - well centered - I'm there!

I did notice, and I think this has been touched on previously, that when I bought my last 2 boxes of retail "booster" boxes, I got 1 sp. I was getting 1/pk or more, not to mention a GU or Real One auto in just about every one of those boxes as well. I think the hobby shops caught on and ripped Topps a new arsehole. Was this touched on before or am I breaking new ground here? Anyone else have that experience? I know Kevin opened a ton of it... I thought that was touched on...

BigCrumbs! I made over $250 last year!

I dunno, maybe this accounts for the falling prices since SP's are easier to come by than people previously thought. The GU and auto's are still regional as I busted about 8 $30 boxes and only got 1 GU and NO auto's

Chris I know you were just reporting and not trying characterize the information - it is interesting and is a good lesson for anyone that is collecting the set - main point here is to take the information that is provided here and include it in your strategy next year as a benchmark.
I have purchased my fair share of heritage this year - and I will tell you that the sp's are plentiful - now some of the commons - that may turn out to be the "True" sp's. Time will tell. Bottom line, you can open 10-15 booster boxes and still not be able to put the low series set together.
So next year - when we crank this up - rally the troops and start collecting! Vintage collector or not - this is one the better sets in the new millenium IMO.

On a side note.. how about this?.. and this dude says he's already sold 10 of the same sets!

Good catch Pan - I missed that set when I scanned the sales!
That's good money at this point in time - after the allstar break people are almost starting to think about football season with respect to cards.
