1960 proof set... what the heck?

I just opened a sealed 1960 proof set (my birth year) and there is this weird copper colored splash on the obverse of the coin. The scan does not show it very well, but it looks like copper smushed on the face of the coin. There are some smaller spots as well. What the heck is this now?

Can we see a pic of the obverse? Does it look like toning, or does it have a different look than oxidation?

Looks like rust; there might be a tiny hole that let some moisture in!!

Yep, tiny hole and something leaked in. I see these from time to time in the 1964 sets. Sometimes it can create some wild ones:
