OK, stupid question...kinda...

if someone is selling wheat cents by "the bag" how many coins is that? forgive me im trying to learn dealer lingo

    Probably depends upon the dealer. I've seen "bags" refer to 20, 50, 100, and more.

    The last bag of wheats I purchased was $50.00 face or 5000 cents.

    As fcloud mentioned, in dealer parlance, a "bag" is usually $50.00 face value, or 5,000 coins.

    This is also how the cents are shipped from the Mint to the Fed- in $50.00 face value cloth bags.

    A bag can be any number or size, of course, but if you hear dealers talking about bags of Lincolns, chances are they are talking about 5,000 -coin, $50 face value bags. Trust me on this.
