Need advice on coin software

I'm considering a purchase of computer software to help me maintain an inventory and value of my coin collection. There are several products to choose from. Do you have a recommendation as to which one I should select?

I use NumisExpert and like it.

Coin Assistant is very versatile. Has capacities for several photos, price updates via Trends, reports, etc. I've really liked mine.

If you don't want to spend any money, the Heritage site has My Collections that does a great deal for you free of charge. It moves a bit slow at times, but has nice features. I recommend you check that out.

  • NurisExpert is great!!!

I also use NumisExpert, and I've been very pleased with it. I had a minor technical issue a couple months ago, and they bent over backwards to take care of it.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Thanks everyone. The program that intrigued me comes from a company called Carlisle. Now I will check out the two mentioned here.

I wrote my own in order to automate everything I do. It tracks my collection, albums, certified coins and my "inventory", plus tracks coins I submit for slabbing.

When I go list an auction it generates the HTML for the ad, tracks the receivables, items that need to be shipped, and items sold.

I used to use Excel spreadsheets, but automation has saved me a lot of time and hassels.

And now I know exactly how much money I lose selling coins right down to the penny.

If you are any good at programming, you could figure out to remove that feature from your software. image
