If I had nothing else to do, I'd do it. It would probably take me a long time to get through them all, though; I don't think I have the desire to do it all at one time!

I do it all the time. I get $20 - $25 from my bank 1-2 times per week.

I look thru them while watching TV. I find it very relaxing.

I cherrypicked through 26 rolls of wheaties I got from my grandfather's collection and quickly sorted out the teens, keys, and BU coins. Then I looked through the sorted piles one by one when I got the chance. Break it down into smaller hoards of semi-organized sets and do them in parts.

Welllll, back in the 50's my buddy and I would go to an old Italian market and get pennies to search for our Whitman boards. The grocery store got sick of us. Justifiably. They told us "no more."
I told my ....MOM.. lil tattletail me.
    She bought our groceries there.
    She talked to them.
They told us it was OK to do again.

    The BRAT pack.

Ummmm.... No. I'd stock milk at Kroger before I'd try to profit at that.

I did about ten years ago. I kept buying bags of them from a local dealer. I had a roll set from 1934-1958, all circs of coarse. Here's a past of my old excel sheet showing what I had... I had to buy the pre-30's seperate from the bags. I gave some thought to collecting a roll set... but those SVDB's would have hurt!

  • I do it while I supervise the grandkids(ages 3,5) in the pool. Pick out the keys,semi-keys and uncs and sell the rest. Local dealer pays 4c if not sorted. Sorted he pays 10 c for teens, 7c for 20s, 5c for 30s and 3.2c for the rest. About 3 weeks ago found a 55 double-die.

Do it to relax and kill time while the wee-ones swim.

Not me. I've had two seperate "bags" (old cloth bags) full of wheaties that have come with different collections I've been fortunate enough to be able to go through, and both times, after 700+ coins or so, you start to lose it, or at least, I start to lose it.

I gave up, and sold the bags as I received them.

When my kids get a bit older, I'll have THEM go through the wheaties looking for all the "treasure". image
