Someone is selling my card on eBay!!!

I just saw one of my cards for sale on eBay and I wanted to get info here on what steps I should take and also to warn any of you who might think the card is a good deal. It is for a 1957 PSA 9 sandy koufax PSA serial number 08168199.

Here is the auction

I hope I did that right.

  • I also tried to figure out how to tell eBay but I am not having much luck.

  • These have been a new-wave of scams. They find high dollar cards and wait for people to email them about being pre-approved and then try to scam them outside of eBay.

BTW, it's sort of a compliment that your Koufax card is scam worthy image

  • Thanks Brian. I just hate to see someone taken on this deal. I know most of the people on this board are tough to slip one by, but I figured the more people that know the less likely it will work.

That guy has perfect feedback. His account has been hijacked, no doubt.
  • Nice auction do you think if I bid 2 cents he will mail me your card. Just having fun with ya. Toooo many scammers on ebay. My friend at work had his id hacked. He was unactive on ebay for several months no bids no selling. So a hacker got into his account listed some skidoos worth over 5 large. The buyer emailed him asking where to send payment, long story short watch out for scams on ebay.

  • Thanks. I suppose if I try to email him that will be hijacked too.

bedardsavard18, I think if he sends you any card for .02 then you scammed him.image

  • I was just going to say I'd be flattered at first if one of my cards was hijacked for a fraudulent auction.

Then again it sadly comes down to education on Ebay. Stay away from private auctions, pre-approved bidder auctions, guys selling 30K cards with little to know feedback and no significant purchases or sells.

If it looks to good to be true then it likely is.

I just sent this via the contact seller

your account has been hijacked and you are selling cards that belong to someone else. I have contacted ebay and the FBI fraud unit to assist you in this matter

Either the real owner will get this and get on the ball, or the loser scum who stole the account will freak out a bit......

  • Still think I should bid 2 cents on your card Bill LOL. Could be the winning bid. Glad no buddy bid on this auction then the idiot who stole your scan is out some coin.

  • Glad to see no one bid on the card. And I hope the real owner of the account got the email. I get those lousy eBay security scam emails about once a month so I know it can happen.

    Thanks everybody for posting.

  • Yeah, that's why I always white out my certification numbers when posting my scans in the registry. Not that anyone would want my lame PSA 3-7 cards, but I like 'em image

I'm so stupid, I would've bought my own card. Good catch and thanks for alerting us all.

Sticking together has saved more than a few heartaches.

    Best,
