<< <i>Why is the 'ol lady at fault, other than sutpidity or misplaced trust?? >>

I wouldn't call it stupidity, just foolishness, but that's a good enough reason.

GREED...What ever happened to treating others the way you would like to be treated? "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Stealing.... "Thou shalt not steal." "Aww yeah, but....."

OK...so nobody's watching and you stand to make a bundle. Do you REALLY feel good about yourself or does it bother you in the least that you got over on some poor, overly trusting soul?

Say what you will but when your "defining moment" comes along, your Epiphany and you're on your death bed, when the reality of everything you've ever done wrong to anyone at anytime looms before you and it's too late to right those wrongs....when you know in your heart of hearts that you will be standing before your maker very shortly....

When Eternity is about to become Reality....will you then laugh at all the times you got over on people or "ripped" them or will you be dreadfully fearful that somehow you are going to pay for all your transgressions?

When that money that meant so much to you at the time now means nothing at all and there is no more rationalizing, how will you feel then? Live each day as though it were your last....it very well could be.

I would agree with that statement. Now what if this same little old lady put the entire lot up for sale on Ebay?
Then I bid $25,000 but got it for $120 cause only three people saw the Add. Should I send her the $120 or the $25,000.

My experience with Coin dealers has actually been way better then the Used car dealers. I have been to a few. Most just look at the coins and go to the Gray sheet. Then get out there calculator and punch in a percentage.
Then Make me an offer. Sometimes reasonable, sometimes a little low. So I either hold my hand out and say pay me or I do the little bye bye wave. image
Actually learning a few things here. What a great site.

    In response to this post.....

I did something like this when I first came to VA. I did not know any of the dealers, so I drove Sally to different shops and had her take in three different better date Morgans in PCGS holders. I did this at five shops. Four offered fair money on the coins. The fifth shop offered about 30% of greysheet bid. I've done business with the four shops that offered a fair price. The other shop I have never been back to.

yet the 1 shop is selling coins 30% less than the other 4

It's a funny idea but of course in the real world this shop would go out of business and less and less people sell there because they learn
they can get more money at the other four shops.
