No Band Mercury Set adding coins question... (:D)

FairlanemanFairlaneman Posts: 10,424 ✭✭✭✭✭
Hmmm.....only three coins are in the set now. Should I add the coins as they are purchased or should I wait untill next year and add them all at once with the hope of winning a award ?

Whatcha think ? Heck no one is talking Mercs anymore so a little discontent will have to do for the moment. By the way my set name is now the "Watch Out Rick" set. Only No Band coins will go into this set. None of those bum Full Band coins will be in the set.

Take Care.

Put em in as you buy them image I moved up to #6 today, and I might move up another spot as soon as I get another coin I'm waiting on...

Hmmm....I have a small problem with holder type. Just may have to go with the Snipe routine after some mileage is put on the coins.

    Ken,

If it were me, i'd do them one at a time. I have no patience! I know where there is a super 19-Simage

You have a nice group showing!

    Ken,

    Welcome back to the Mercateers!

It is good to see you actively collecting Mercs again. I will be on the sidelines for a short time as I recently remarried and the coin fund has been depleted for some other things. Let's hope that the FB crowd lets this collection remain primarily NB coins.

PS, I love the name of your net set and hope I can hold up my end.

  • It feels good to be in the Top 10 for once! imageimage I know some people think that it should be only No-Bands coin in the Non-Bands set... but, frankly, I don't care too much... all I care for, is that the FB coins don't get a bonus. If you've got the money for 67FBs, good for you... I don't... and the same arguement could come to the NB registry that, If you have the money for 68s and 69s, good for you... I definately don't... so, I buy coins I like when I find them, no matter if they are FB or Non...

Rick if only some of the people could know how hard it is to find No Band coins. I looked for a 16P all weekend and struck out 27 times. The Mercs threw a No Hitter not to mention a perfect game at me on that coin.

Thought you would like the Set name. imageimage

I agree NB coins are hard to find. Especially the ms68's (ms67 by yesterday's standards image).

    Ken,

I found a 16-P in 66 that is presently in an NGC holder. I don't know if it will cross, but I will give it a shot one of these days. FYI, I have a 20-P in 64NB if you need that coin.

As usual, I am looking for a 19-P in 65 or 66 if anyone has one. The NB set has me energized again, although I think prices may be moving up for these underappreciated coins.
