Key date Washingtons...Thumbs up or down?

I am curious what the forum members think about these Washingtons. Should I send them in for grading and who should I send them to?

I know the photos are not the greatest. I still haven't spent enough time messing with this camera to figure it out. The 32D kinda looks like it may have been cleaned or whizzed to me, I can't quite tell.

I say thumbs up on both, though I am far from an expert on Washingtons. I can't tell if the '32-D was cleaned or whatever, either, but I stink at making such determinations from a picture.

They look like nice high grade pieces, if they are authentic. I would send them in for grading, to PCGS or NGC. If you are concerned about the '32-D, maybe you should go with ANACS, as they'll still grade it if it has problems.

IMHO: The 32-D definitely has some wear on the high points. If you want to slab them because you want to sell them, I'd go with PCGS, but don't be surprised if the 32-D is BB'd.

  • The 32S looks like a nice, well struck coin to me. The 32D has some wear on the hair curls in front of George's ear and is probably AU, unless it has been messed with.
