What do you use for 10X 60x 200x clear photos

I have been useing a PC based Micro scope, you can get 10x 60x 200x ,I have used it in court for tool marks cases and started to use it for coins, it works well, you can see the grain and if the coin has been clean or tamper with

What do you use, i know of some collectors that use a simple web cam

  • How much does one of those microscopes cost. I'm still learning about pictures, coins and posting them on the web. I can't get it right to where it looks good. I was hoping airplanenut would hold a hands on seminar!

  • My scope is about $1500, but you can get a Intel Play scope on Ebay for about $50, It a kids toy but works just the same, the Intel scope you have to play around with the ligth to get a good photo, also adjusting the point on the coin has to be done by hand, but still OK.

I just use macro on my camera... it does just fine... I've been playing with using a 10x loupe and macro, but I haven't done much with that yet.

    Jerry,

I don't have one of these but if I were a dealer or a high volume turn-over collector, this is what I think my choice would be.
