The Richmond Collection. What time does floor bidding start?

partagaspartagas Posts: 2,056 ✭✭✭
I am bidding via internet on a $2.5 coin and it says I am the winner. But don't they still have to do floor bids?
If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around. Am I still wrong?

Yes the auction starts at 4pm pst (7pm est today). Stupid eBay.

Thanks Placid, but it is DLRC website that I am bidding through and it says the item sold and I won?

    This is confusing.

What lot number? They are still taking bids on the coins on eBay and will have live bidding later today.

You have won 1 Auction Lots in the last days.

    Description Winning Bid

    1876 $2 1/2 NGC AU53 Item has been sold.

The above is a copy of my auction bids in the DLRC website. I called and they said they still need to do floor bidding? This just make zero sense why they would have the above text. I was all excited, then let down when I called. Oh well. Maybe my bids will stand up at the floor auction.

Yes I do see it still on EBAY

Sounds like they need to work on their auction software so it says You hold the current high bid or something like that.

    Almost time.

Prices are not very strong on most of the coins so far.

    The 1855-D $1 sold for a heck of a lot of money--hammered about $5000 (70%) over Trends!

The finest known extremely rare 1849-C Open Wreath $1 Gold apparently did not meet reserve...if you can trust the ebay prices.

Laura told me the open wreath dollar sold at $600k ????
  • PlacidPlacid Posts: 11,299 ✭✭✭
Yes one coin close to the start went for 600k or more. Not sure what it was I was just caught a glimse of the end of that one.

    Maybe this
I swear I saw 600k on the screen though it shows 590k. image

    partagas the 1876 $2 1/2 NGC AU53.
Hammer price shown was $1,000 on eBay live.

IT was lot 1005 that sold for in excess of 600k 1849 Open wreath NGC-63 $

I was following along in the catalog and noticed that typical pieces were showing some softness while other tougher items were quite strong like the previous posts mentioned. But I am not up on gold pricing like others, so take that with a grain of salt?

If you look at the link in my post above yours it shows lot 1005, 590k reserve not meet.
    Maybe a eBay error?

We will probably have a better idea in the next day or two when the DLRC site gets updated. I was out most of the evening and have only reviewed the final results of a few coins of interest on ebay. Their final results are not necessarily accurate. Of the coins that I checked, only the 55-D $1 sold for what I consider to be strong money.

    Auctions still going on.
    I just saw a internet bidder get a 1880 AU50 $5 gold for $100. The low estimate was $180.
