Is there a dress code? Can I wear shorts and a T-shirt or what?

    I've never heard of a dress code at a coin show. I'll be wearing shorts.

    Not many dealers will get in if their is a dress codeimage. mike

    Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but please bring your checkbook and stop by and say hello.
    PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
    I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

    There probably isn't a dress code, but you might feel out of place wearing shorts at the Grand Hyatt hotel.

    we both went to the one at the waldorf that year, and there wasnt a dress code...believe me
    if there wasnt one at the waldorf, there wont be one at the Grand hyatt

    The winter show at the Waldorf tends to bring fancy international dealers, but there's still no dress code. I'm sure this show, a US show, will feature plenty of people wearing way too small, way too unbuttoned shirts... no dress code I believe image

    I am going tomorrow from work (getting there around 1 pm). I am wearing normal work attire-- "Dockers" pants and polo shirt. If I was attending on Saturday, I would be in shorts and t-shirt.

    Is anyone going to the auctions?

    40% Friday and 30% Saturday chance of rain...

    The smart ones WILL dress down- makes them less of a target for ne'er do wells. It's also supposed to hit about 90 in NYC tomorrow w/ 90% humidity.

    Coin dealers are not exactly, well, "best dressed".

    I once dragged my wife to a coin show, and she said she'd never seen so many "plumber's butts" in one room!!

    All coin dealers are expected to wear Black Tie....all patrons must wear big beer belly tshirts....
