I came across this Franklin recently, and while I don't collect them, it caught my eye because of the attractive original toning. Looks like mint set toning to me, but not sure...
Scans don't pick up the colors well...sorry 'bout that, so I will describe.
Nice obverse, Two hits on jawline. Overall pink hue, with blue and orange around the date and bottom of the obverse. Very pleasing.
Lot of colors in this section, which failed to show up in the scan!
Brighter reverse, but still has speckled pink toning near the top and around the right side of the rim.
For the enthusiast, good bell lines, but an unfortunate reed mark near the crack prevents FBL designation.
Overall I would grade this coin MS63-MS64, one hit away from FBL? But the toning is the reason to own this one. It looks good!
