1911-D Saints...D/D?

I was looking at my 11-D Saint last week, and I noticed that the mintmark appeared to be D/D. Since then, I've looked at several others(OK, not a huge sample size), and they have all been D/D.

I was wondering if they are all D/D?

My Redbook lists the mintage at 800Kish for this issue. How many dies would have been used for a production run of this size?

No hard evidence but for 800K I would expect at least two possibly three die pairs.
