International Money order question please

May I ask if these money orders can be purchased at the post office? I went to the post office web page and it listed 30 countries however, I did not see England, Scotland or Ireland listed. Are postal international money orders not accepted in the UK?

Thanks,
Micheál

I've purchased International money orders at the USPO before. It's isn't a problem as far as I know.
I know one was to Canada. Another was to Lithuania. I am not sure but I think I sent one to UK once too.

Some countries accept them, some do not. Even in nations that do, currency conversion costs can be so high that people there won't accept them. BTW, the green ones are for domestic use. People keep forgetting and try to use them in Canada or Mexico.

Another option is a "foreign draft" which can be purchased at some banks. These are special checks drafted in a foreign currency. My bank charges a $17.50 fee, so they aren't cheap.
