A little renewed faith in Upper Deck!

I received an Ichiro All Star Patch collection promo card from Upper Deck and was intrigued by the design. Being a football fan, I decided to buy a box of the 2003 Upper Deck Patch Collection Football. I cracked the box last night and honestly wasn't expecting much since I haven't had much luck with UD products lately. I have to say that I was pretty happy with the pulls. In a box that is supposed to only have three patch cards on average, I pulled a total of 5 (not including the box topper). The box topper was a Brian Urlacher. I also pulled Rookie Innovation patches of Kyle Boller ($12), Byron Leftwich ($25), and Onterrio Smith ($12). The other patches included an All Pro Performers Patch of Chad Pennington and an All Upper Deck Patch of Joey Harrington. Among the other four rookie cards I pulled were Lee Suggs ($8) and Teyo Johnson ($4). If that's not enough, I pulled an instant win redemption for a Peyton Manning signed 16 x 20. Not bad for a $37 box of cards. image

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

    Damn jester, nice box. image

In case you didn't know, there was one memorabilia redemption per case in that UD Patch last year. So you got yourself the good box! Congrats. You can probably see your 16x20 on UD site as well as get a value for it. That's pretty cool.

It's Jeter but close enough. image I saw that they were 1/320 across several products. I didn't realize that translated to 1/case though. Thanks for the info! I tried looking it up when I redeemed the card but didn't see any 16x20's (just the signed numbers piece) so I'm really curious.

    <<is the Manning 16x20 for trade?>>

I'll have to get back to you when I get it. Unless my son has other plans, it shouldn't be a problem.

fsjester, ok lmk when you get it. I have many nice game used, autos, patches, graded, rookies, you name it in baseball, football, and basketball. I would also trade for the card unredeemed.

    Hey
I'll take Kelly McG - aka 'call sign' Charlie - she's a government contracted employee so you don't have to salute her - this is the last time she looked good to me and I have something she can salute!

Scott - I am a memoribilia man and think there is nothing cooler than a 16x20. I focused on them - auto'd for about 5 years and have about 30. Congrats on that!!

Stone - is the flag flying high on your pole, or at half mast?
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
