Kansas State Quarter recall?

I heard a rumor...

That being the current quarter design was flawed?
Apparently the bison`s horns were pointing in the wrong direction.
Down instead of up.

Anyone hear of such a thing or was that person pulling my numismatic leg..... ?

When is the Kansas quarter coming out. If this is true, I bet you still will see some of the mistakes make it to market some how with a primo price.

How could they recall a coin that is not produced yet?

Kansas will be the fourth quarter to be released next year.

Maybe the design was recalled.

I read in one of the magazines that the design with the bison next to a a little sunflower was picked out of a group of design candidates. The bison won, but the design is going to be changed to make the bisons horns point in the right direction to make it look more natural. The quarter wasn't made with the horns pointing the wrong way, just the concept design had the horns the wrong way. It is something like that.

MrSpud has it. Te winning design ad the horns wrong and the design commitee requested that the mint fix that on the final production design.

Thanks all for the story of the bison horns on the kansas quarter.
I havent even seen this design yet but i sure like the idea of a bison on a coin again.
