What would a GB 1953 Proof set go for?

Assume mint state coins and packaging.

Thank you in advance.

  • Do most of the 1953 sets have nice toning? The one I saw had a really nice purple penny.

The bronze coins is these sets seem to tone nicely, more than the silver.

Purple? I bet that looks well rancid... (not that i don't like purple, i like purple very much) it's just i don't like toning.

When i read i was just thinking about the 1953 gold and how much that would fetch!
  • I just hope Spinnypoo holds a few giveaways after a few brews.

I assume you are talking about the proof set in an original presentation case and not the mint set in plastic. Really nice 1953 proof sets are worth more than $100 nowadays. Watch out for the cases that have the dagger on them - they are modern products made for date sets of circulated coins.

  • The case is the original proof set one and thank you for the advice everyone, especially wybrit for comprehensive answer.
