There may be that PO01 in there. How much will braddick pay for two or three. May make the whole lot worthwhile.
If I do get them, I have a few freinds to help with the heavy lifting.
I'm worried about the heavy grading on may part. Let's see, circ or unc, 72-P or not. Grade the uncs, look for Type I and Type II 72-P's, and blow out the rest. Of course that may take some time.

$1,000.00 for the first that slabs (PCGS) and $100.00 each, up to ten after that. Hurry though... deadline is up August 1st., but might need to extend it if you're the winner of this lot!
<< <i> wonder what the shipping is on 4 1/2 tons >>
A big U-Haul truck ought to be able to transport it. It would probably be cheaper for the seller to fly to TX, then rent and Drive the U-Haul back Home.
4.5 tons = 9000 pounds. It's going to be a big truck. Even at 175,000 dollars it'll cost too much. I just don't see any profit in trying to buying them, laoding them up, moving them to some other place. What do you get when you go through th coins? AU55 is about the best you could hope for. You have to somehow hire a crew to shovel all that stuff into a big dump truck, I guess a backhoe might work too, wihtout them trying to pocket some for themselves. I guess you could pay the help in coin too, day laborers work out OK. I suppose that maybe if you have a way to ship them, then maybe you could sell them over a period of time for $1.50 to $2.00 each maybe. I personally would not bid on them, unless I went down there and took a personal look see myself. They could all be corroded oxidized junk after sitting in that garage or warehouse al these years. But what the heck, maybe a casino would like them for some kind of a promotion or something. Might be worth it then.
rumor has it that the guy had over 200,000+ and over the last 18-24mos has had a dealer local to him yank all the bu stuff that rolls could be made with and slabbed and/or ready to slab the nice stuff with the pedigree from the "xyz hoard". anyone notice the almost absurd runup in bu rolls of avg ikes? so with very little bu stuff left, or beat to hell and back and/or the majority sliders and avg circs. more than 1.12 to 1.15 per would almost be be a loser considering flying out paying for 3 tickets,3 help wages, spend 2-3 days there wooping yourselves to death loading, renting uhaul to hold that weight, transport, unload (another few days, spread and sort (weeks/months), then sell (12 to 15mos). but you could mass market the pedigree even on slider unc rolls and probably get decent money. his reserve is probably around 250k. that's about what you could net since the goodies are allegedly plucked already so you'd lose your ass even at 250k. who in the hell owning these would not do this or have done this? a person with this many has had help, knows what he's doing and wants to unload the junk. excellent marketing, etc. he probably got 175K+ for what has been already been moved on the roll bid runup and what is waiting to be slabbed once these are gone. i would more go with these thoughts about this having seen situations like this many a time over the years....rather than think he dont know nothing really other than "i'd just chunk em back basically" yeah, right...
4 1/2 tons is nothing. Sounds like a half hour work for a healthy young man. There's lots of heavy lifting in the coin hobby and it shouldn't be too big a problem for most.
These may go for more than you think. The wholesale on circ Ikes bumps up against $1.30 every once in a while so on a large lot like this there just might be a little premium. It wouldn't surprise me if they get close to a quarter million. The buyer will be selling them for a long time probably.
Maybe we should have a poll for where you think the reserve is and where you think the auction will close. I'm thinking the reserve is at least $200,000 and auction will end somewhere around $260,000.
Arlington is right between Fort Worth and Dallas so maybe Heritage ought to grab them.

But, he says in the auction that the coins are unsearched.
So do you actuallybelieve that statement? << Seller warrants that he has never searched the coins for specific dates, condition, mint marks or rarities. >>
If you had 175,000 Ikes would you go throught them? Knowing that there is the possibility of finding some with Numismatic Value? They've been gone through. To me this is a cool auction Because it's IKes Instead of Wheats but it's just like the other unsearched auctions on ebay.
I may have to email the seller - I live in that area....

Sounds like one of my old customers. He used to buy coins with QUARTER ROLLS. We cringed to see him coming. And, golly, the rolls were often .....short......imagine that.

Maybe the buyer shoukld buy a house in the seller's neighborhood (or wherever the coins are stored), then cart them with a wheel barrell.
