Mark Teixeira and Alexis Rios are sizzling!

So that's why everyone likes Teixiera's potential, he has 11 Home Runs in his last 17 games played. Alexis Rios still doesn't have a Home Run, but he has 7 hits in his last 8 at bats and is hitting .462 in his last ten games. And did anyone see Rios gun down Ichiro last week, he has a cannon of a right arm. His power is still probably two years away, but this kid can flat out play baseball!

One of the better scores I had was with Teixeira RCs back in 2001 when Fleer put out those factory sets with the rookie update cards inside. One of those big wax breakers like mr.mem opened 40 sets and listed them in 8 5-card lots with $8 BINs. I managed to snap up 7 of them and won the 8th for about $12. I flipped them a couple weeks later for about $400.

Teixeira and Blalock both are quite capable of hitting. I wonder which will reach greater heights.

it's funny that this has come up. i have very limited interest in newer modern (just heritage bb) but my son loves the stuff. he was dying to spend his money on an SPX teixeira i told him save it for a spx prior.
he buys the texeira anyway. teixeira goes on fire , prior has a sore elbow and i'm stuck living with a 13 yr. old, self proclaimed modern card market genius.
