Don't you hate it when..........you follow a coin that really catches your eye only to see another forum member ( someone you know) show up as high bidder on the final day. I played the good guy and didn't bid on it, but did watch the last 5 minutes so that if and when the member was outbid I might still be able to put a snipe in during the last few seconds. Then nobody outbids him untill there's only a couple of seconds left (not enough time to bid) and the coin goes for well under what my max would have been.

I've given up on sniping unless I come across it for the first time with only a few minutes left. Now, if I see a coin, I just put in my max bid and wait for a email. I'm about 60-40 to winning.

Snipping is great when you have a 10 MBps connection. I have more speed then an indy-car. I have purchased many coins on auction sites before and my snipe rate is almost always 100%.

A little advice put you max bid in at around 20 seconds. It makes it nearly impossible (even us with a fast connection) to get an additional snipe bid on it. The closest I have ever pulled one out at was 14 seconds and my fingers were flying on that keyboard.

When I was building my Frankie registry set, I actually drove a few out of collecting them.....

the Kitty declared war and if one that I needed pop'd up, it didn't matter who was the high bidder, the
kitty was going to own that coin.

In fact, how dare they bid on a Frankie I needed!
