Well like usual, I thought the Grapevine Coin show was pretty good again this year.
On Saturday it was pretty full, Sunday like usual had dealers leaving early.
I bought a couple of Morgans, and a replacement 1994 SAE (the previous one has a unsightly big white milkspot on it).
One of the dealers had some really fabulous brilliant cobalt blue PCGS slabbed Jefferson Proof nickels and a really nice gold toned Proof nickel too.
I do say those nickelw ere really really nice. Unfortunately I didn't have enough cash on me to get even one of them. I would have loved to have gotten both a blue and a gold toned Jefferson nickels. If they weren't in the PCGS slabs I would have considered them to be AT nickels as they were really brilliant in color.

They typically have 70 tables in use at the show.
Although it was really crowded, I thought it was a decent show. Although I didn't pick up too many U.S. coins, I added quite a few high grade darkside coins that I needed for sets. More than anything, I enjoyed talking with dealers and collectors.
I saw the proof nickles that folks were talking about - had a very nice conversation with the dealer and his wife - Mike and Dawn Egger. I bought 2 of my new buffs from these folks. This was the first time that I had seen them at the Grapevine show - I hope that they come back for the next one. Royal coin and jewelry also had some nicely toned Jefferson proofs, some slabbed and some raw.
All in all, it was a good show and I am looking forward to the next one!
