This is probably driving the modern bashers to distraction.

I just can't get excited about anything that was minted during my lifetime.
I don't bash moderns, it's just that I couldn't care less.
Kinda reminds me of Garbage Pail Kids cards and Beanie Babuies.
If it turns you on, go for it!!

Does anyone bash bust, seated, Barber, Morgan, Buffalo, Mercury or Walker type coins???

Individual examples? Sure. But nobody bashes them as a group, nor bashes those who choose to collect them. And, nobody ever calls collectors of same "stupid" or "insane" or "ignorant" or equates them to Beanie Babies and Garbage Pail Kids.
BTW, see the four modern coins in my sig line? They're worth approximately 20 times what they cost me.

Ha, so you do admit they are modern coins. Glad you cleared that up, as I thought you might say starting in 1965 is modern.

It actually does begin in 1965. However, I was responding to somebody with a different definition, thus I did so accordingly.

I could point out that many profited on Beanie Babies, or mention the "bigger fool" theory, but I'll just say congratulations!!
I have no idea how to photograph a coin or post it as an icon or I would use one of my coins.
Anyway, it's a nice coin.

Who's the "bigger fool"? One who buys a "classic" coin that's been run to the rafters price-wise, or one who finds coins raw for dirt cheap and spends pennies on the dollar of their true value? My coins could drop in value 75% today, and I'd still be in the black. Can you say the same?

Oops, it appears I've invaded the turf of those who predominate these boards, Shame on me!!
Hey guys and gals, it's a free country! Loosen up! Let's live and let live, and try to have some fun and share knowledge and ideas!!!
Russ, I wish you well with your prized Kenndeys. You too, Lucy, with your Frankies.
Hey Lucy and other 50s fans, remember what Charlie Brown said??
"Why's evervbody always pickin' on me!"
Guess that's the way I feel. But, like Mad's Alfred Newman sez, "What, me worry?"
very bad!

Actually we're just a niche here on the boards also, but we're a vocal niche. Don't
sweat it, everything blows over around here after a while.
Good luck.

surprising. ...would love to see pics. I suspect that at least the '71,
'78, and '85-D are improvable.
Thank you for reminding me why I took several months off from participating in these boards. I had forgotten. Which brings to mind a few things:
1) There is always a curmudgeon who feels it necessary to educate the great heathen unwashed masses with their infinite wisdom regarding taste and value. These individuals feel it is their duty to interject into any thread (that doesn't say negative things about the coins they don't like or care about) comments that include "common", "worthless", "face value", "not worth slabbing", "gee, it must be really hard to get one that nice out of the gazillions made", or etc., etc.
2) I think it is an interesting and humorous idea that "if people like me don't bash it, it must be valuable." This is not an argument for the value or interest in classic coins. This is an indefensible position that is only a meaningless statistic.
3) In a hundred years, it is unlikely that coin collectors will remember many (if any at all) of the folks on these boards. However, when someone is looking for that perfect Kennedy, Franklin, Sacagawea, etc. for their collection of classic coins, they’ll be thankful in some small way that someone thought to put aside a few nice examples. What contribution are you making to the future?
Have a nice day.
Buddy Holly did suck...

I have a '57 Vette (Lucy likes 50s cars), collect old jukeboxes and 50s records (78 RPM), and still have my baseball cards acquired as a kid in the 50s!
I even have a bunch of Frankies in my complete run of double mint sets form the 50s. I understand these "mint set toned' coins are popular with my esteemed collegues who crave moderns!!
