I need grading opinion on Barber Half

Looks like VF-20 detail to me. Was this date usually a weak strike? Overall, it looks less *worn* than the detail would seem to indicate.

I must be in a conservative mood, I see this one as VF to VF+, first estimate is 30.

I would guess Vf-30 myself, looks like possibly retoned, but nice!

What jdimmick said....cleaned, them thumbed or AT'd in some form or another.
The deep blue around the stars is what's left of the original toning.

I always grade low on circulated coins. I'm a lot better at grading MS.

You know, I've been looking at this coin and comparing it to ANA and Photograde, and I see nothing in terms of detail to justify a grade above VF-20. So I'm sticking with that.

VF-25 to 30.

It's a nice circulated coin with good eye appeal. Barber haves in this grade are really scarce. Most of the time they are either Good-4 or MS-60 something. Coins in Fine to EF and few and far between.

And come on guys! It's a nice coin, but calling it EF-40 or 45 is a prime example of "grade-flation." Let's try to avoid that trap, OK?
