Slow night for mid-grades on the Bay

Not much market tonight for mid-grade material. My PSA 5 and 6 stars have been going for about half of SMR. It's not just me, because I've bought a couple in that range, too. My 7's and 8's haven't done too badly, though. Sometimes it's the opposite; people are hot for the lower grades. Wish I could figure out the formula!

I got hammered on a few midgrade cards I sold last week. 50% SMR roughly. Was watching some Mantle midgrade auctions, and even these sold for about 60% (6 - 7).
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

I think that summer time has a lot to do with it. Many people are on vacation or doing other things in the summer. I don't put much up for sale in July or August myself. The last several years, I have noticed this trend.

Interesting. This is my first year selling on eBay, but when I was doing shows and mail order many years ago, it seemed like winter was a tough time to sell baseball because folks were thinking about NBA, NFL, NHL. For all I know, the Internet changes things completely.

I think people are also now saving for the National.
