What years/denoms are best for very lustrous gold?

The kind with luster that not only drips but has great pop to it. Any particular dates/mints/denoms known for that? Thanks! image

For $10 Indians: 1911, 1912, 1913, 1915 and probably the late dates of 1926 and 1932. I've noticed quite a few 1911-P that are just amazing.

I saw a '32 $10 ONION INDIAN last week. It was so nice it made me want to cry. Unfortunately it had the same effect on my wallet. This issue has a magnificient strike, brilliant fields and is not so rare you cant find any so I would say the $10 '32 indian is an easy choice.

  • Twenty Saints the 23D hands down. Twenty Libs the 1907D, the 1901 and the 1903 can come with full beautiful luster. Of course some can be found in the 04 but there are so many available they run the gamut from poor to very nice. image

    Jom:

Is that gorgeous Saint an MS66?
    When in doubt, don't.

Yes it was. Actually, it was about as close as you can get to 67 without getting the grade.
