Help on valuing this MS66 Red 71S Lincoln

JRoccoJRocco Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just made a nice 71S MS66 Lincoln in an ANACS slab. Can anyone please help me on how to value this in this slab, or should I try to cross it over first. It is a clean full red coin. Please note, the black spot in front of the ear is on the plastic, not the coin.

PCGS Pop 97, 8 better. In an ANACS holder the coin might bring $20 probably less. Sorry for the bad news but Memorials in non-PCGS holders do very poorly in todays market. In a PCGS holder in 66 I'd guess it would sell for $30 or less depending on who needed it. My advice to you is never send a 1965-date to anyone but PCGS if you'd like to make a profit. Just my experience and I deal in 1959-date Lincolns. Keep on searching for GEMS!! Chris

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
  • PCGS is really the only way to go with memorials. Even then, we're looking for 67 RDs on most dates or we don't even bother. 66 RDs are what PCGS gives to most everything nice from pre 1985, and in that grade they are barely worth the plastic they're in. We just send in a batch of raw deserving coins (67RDs?) and hope they agree on one or two.
