Home World & Ancient Coins Forum

Hi all. New to this forum!!! I would like to find some ancient coin for my shop

Hello everyone!!!

I have shop in Old Town Temecula, CA. and have had a few people ask about ancient coins. I don't know anything about them but would like to find some cheaper ones for the shop. Maybe someone has some for sale or knows and can recommend someone to get them from.

I did a search on google and thousands came up, and I have no idea who I can trust.

PM'ing me would be the best, as I might not check this forum as much as neccessary.

thanks in advance

Aethelred is one of the local experts here. If he doesn't have it, he can show you where to look.

Welcome to the Dark Side, Morris!! image Hopefully some of our ancients guys will come on this evening. Things get slow with so many folks on vacation -- I just got back from 2 weeks off myself. image

    Welcome to the Darkside, mnm!

I think Aethelred was in the process of selling off his personal ancient and medieval coin collection; you might PM him.

  • You might try checking ebay-- look under Coins-Ancients-Other. There are a good number of ancient coin lots, mostly freshly dug. Oftetimes,
the price per coin winds up at one dollar or less. You may not find anything in great shape or super rare, but a few pretty good nuggets can occassionally be found. In fact, a lot of common ancient roman bronze coins go begging on ebay. I would think there would be plenty of opportinities to get ancients for $1-$5 apiece.
