it has the "NCS" look. i've been looking at many $5 and $10 Indians lately, trying to find a nice type piece of each somewhere between AU55-MS63. there can be quite a bit of difference in color.
This coin has been obviously cleaned and I would stay away. Look at the discoloration from the cleaning that goes inbetween the stars on the obverse and up to the lettering on the reverse. If I was to buy this coin I would treat it as AU cleaned. If it were me and I wanted just one $2 1/2 from the 1890's I would opt for one with a low mintage as they don't really cost much more. mike
