Are funky looking Indian cents the toughest to grade?

Red, RB, natural, AT, real color, whizzed, retoned, color added......there are so many things that can go wrong, it is almost impossible to correctly grade.
Collecting since 1976.

In mint state, maybe. But since I collect them XF/AU, it's pretty easy.

The messed with ones are the worst part. It is also a challenge. You really have to see a lot of original ones before you can do anything on your own.

Well, if you have good lighting, whizzing can be spotted pretty quickly. Then either you're confident or not on the AT issue. BN/RB/RD are pretty easy, except on liners, in which case even the graders flip-flop.

I don't mind them... I did pretty darn good with them in the grading class.

What I don't like is large brown copper (MS/AU) that is slabbed, because the lustre basically can't be seen.
