Feedback

Doesn’t anyone leave feedback for eBay auctions anymore?

Last month I sold 10 coins on eBay and bought 5.

Only 5 of the 10 buyers posted feedback for me, that’s 50%

Only 2 of the 5 sellers posted feedback for me, that’s 40%

I posted feedback for all of them when I received there payment or when I received the coin.

It looks like for the most part feedback has become a one way street. I think from now on I will only post feedback for people who first post feedback for me.

  • Hey alergar - looks like there's a discussion going on about this subject here.
Hutz: Now don't you worry, Mrs. Simpson, I - uh-oh. We've drawn Judge Snyder.
    Marge: Is that bad?
Hutz: Well, he's kind of had it in for me, since I accidently ran over his dog. Actually, replace `accidently' with `repeatedly', and replace `dog' with `son'.
  • As an Ebay Seller --- You should wait til the buyer posts feedback first. That way you know they got the item and are satisfied.
As and Ebay Buyer ---- You should post feedback when you get your item and are satisfied with it.

That seems to work pretty good for me. I had a couple of problems starting out years ago(as a rookie), but now have no problems with feedbacks at all.
Actually learning a few things here. What a great site.

My average is about 10% not getting feedback, buying and selling. In giving feedback, I have probably left it for 95% of the sellers/buyers.

I post feedback after the seller does or when hell freezes over, whichever comes first.

I don't agree with that. I feel that after the auction ends each eBay sales becomes a two part transaction.

Part one is receipt of payment from the auction winner- once payment is received, that part of the transaction is complete; the seller should post feedback and ship the item.
Part two is receipt of the auction item by the purchaser- once the item is received and accepted, that part of the transaction is complete and the buyer should post feedback.

I will continue to post feedback as I always have in the past and just hope that the buyer or seller has the common courtesy to reciprocate.

As a buyer: I email the seller when I have the coin.

    Something like this.
"The coin is great. Positive feedback on the way. Thanks."
    It works really well.

It's a big game. Don't care if feedback is left or not.image
