Should I slab any of these toners... Part II (lotsa pretty pictures!)

As promised, lots more pictures image These would probably go to NGC, and likely be part of a modern submission...

1970-D 5c with nice lustre (I have had people say this is some sort of endroll toning--don't know if it's a little too "loud" to get in a holder)

Is it cost effective to slab these? Won't the grading fees exceed the value of the coins? pardon my comments but I really don't do moderns & it would seem that you'd have more money in the slabbing fees than the value of the coins - or are thes scarce?

I agree, it probably wouldn't be cost effective to slab these.

Sometimes it's cost effective if they grade high enough--to a certain point, the value may go up a tad, but no more than the cost of grading. There have been coins, though, that can go from $2 to $200 with a service behind the color.

  • Nice photos Jeremy!

I like the 1977 Kennedy's. I like the subdued toning on them.

Nice looking coins, but I agree with the first comments that these probably aren't worth slabbing. I think the slabbing companies love all of the submissions that are done in the faint hope of attaining that "super high grade" that would catapult a $10 coin into a $200 coin. Kind of like playing the lottery, and giving the slabbing companies a lot of extra business..... But I do like the coins (as far as moderns go.... image )

  • Both of those 69-S Proof dimes are great! I love that look!

    Oh... REAL helpful image

With regards to the nickel--what kinds of rolls did they use? Definitely not like the one-sided toners with sharp angles like I'm used to...
