Question about grading GSA morgans

For a grading company to determine if A morgan is dmpl or pl, I believe they measure refletive fields.? How does NGC measure reflective field on a coin in a gsa pack, when I try to do this it gets confusing because the plastic also reflects? Any ideas how they do this????

Same way they do with a crossover, I'd suppose... graders probably get used to it when they see so many.

I don't believe that most people experienced with PL and DMPL dollars use any type of measurement tools when grading them, I know I sure don't. Also, most graders experienced in PL's and DMPL's can usually easily make the determination through the plastic GSA holders simply by tilting the coin and/or holding their thumb in front of the fields. All those silly measuring device novelties are for selling on Ebay, not for grading PL/DMPL coins IMO.
